The face tells of long life

From the deep blue and the monochrome black the very elderly face appears: Characteristic large hooked nose under the eyes. Under the nose of the toothless mouth regressed. Wide cheeks, small chin.

Who is so old, many tales to tell. Of love and sorrow, of success and failure - and especially of the tremendous will to live.

All this has delegated the artist in shapes and colors of the background glass painting .. The picture of Ursula Dethleffs is the best example of the enormous rear glass art in the 20th century. The dark brown wooden frame makes the very idiosyncratic, feel the strong character of aging. Art and frames form a convincing symbiosis.
