Fall asters in a glass vase Autumn mood. It is still blooming, but many flowers are already beginning to wither. So only the most beautiful asters are in full bloom in the bouquet. While all that remains of the other flowers is a faded color shimmer with the outline. In contrast, the artist painted the colors of the tablecloth vigorously! But on the tablecloth two wilting flowers have laid themselves to rest. The tablecloth is divided into hard rectangles: as a contrast to the soft flowers of the flowers. The rectangles appear again and again in Fridel Dethleffs-Edelmann's late work - this also applies to the Russian landscape paintings. The flower paintings by Fridel Dethleffs-Edelmann have been among her most important works since her studies at the beginning of the twentieth century. The frame - made from old gold-colored wooden slats - was selected by the artist in 1976. The consignment note to the Great Art Exhibition Munich 1981 (Haus der Kunst) belongs to the painting.
