"The best and most beautiful" from the travel report "by F. Dethleffs-Edelmann of 1934

Her unique report has absolutely private written F. Dethleffs-Edelmann. He should - in contrast to other reports - not be published. Just recently I've found him. For myself, I have transferred him from the Sütterlin. I learned Sütterlin only briefly in high school. Transmission errors I could not avoid. That is not the problem. But I was allowed to publish private report my aunt in my transfer for all? I have decided to publish the best and most beautiful parts of my transfer here. It will be worthwhile for the reader to be able to see in the earliest development time of caravaning.

(Only for interested historians can Sütterlin, the entire original manuscript in Sütterlin is published as a PDF file here.) The original report will be saved with the family archive of the Business Archives Baden-Württemberg in Stuttgart-Hohenheim.

Itinerary about 3,100 km through 88 days with about 35 km of track each day:

The trip was first and foremost a business trip and no holidays, or educational trip. Arist Dethleffs visited the customer in Germany for the factory of his father and his brother. He wants to sale whips and poles and present his new living car. The route had to repeatedly be coordinated with the dates of the customers. The original report is confusing in this respect, although the route at the beginning it was clear:

Ottersweier, Karlsruhe, Heilbronn, Bad Mergentheim, Rothenburg oT, Würzburg, Nürnberg, Hof aS, Fulda, Kassel, Minden / Weser, Bremen, trip to Hamburg, Oldenburg, Ostfriesland, Emden returned to Bremen, Paderborn, Osnabrück, Münster iW, Soest , Bochum, Essen, Elberfeld, Barmen, Cologne, Karlsruhe, Ottersweie.

If everything went well, the cruise was a caravan at the time bad roads at 50 to 60 km / h.
