Fridel Dethleffs-Edelmann has all his life felt in two cultural landscapes at home.
She grew up in Karlsruhe-Hagsfeld as "Badenserin":
School, State Art School, a master student of Prof. Ernst Wuertenberger were her first steps. Many of their works testify, Baden was home to Fridel Edelmann. Therefore, it is still considered in Upper Swabia as strangers - at least until 1931 .
She had learned to love Upper Swabia as their second home early. Long before her marriage to Upper Swabia Arist Dethleffs in 1931, she worked since 1921 often in Isny-Ried / Allgäu. She was a guest at their Karlsruher artist friends Emmy and Herrmann Tiebert, who had moved early with her studio from Karlsruhe to Upper Swabia.
We present here today work by Fridel Edelmann from which she painted between 1921 to 1931 in Upper Swabia:
A small watercolor shows unmarried Fridel Edelmann and Emmy Tiebert cross-country skiing in the Allgäu countryside. Upper Swabia landscape she loved so much as the simple flowers on the Allgäu meadows. These themes, landscapes and flowers, they have throughout their lives accompanied as well as the people they portrayed. The drawn portrait could Herrmann Tiebert constitute or an original from the Allgäu. The drawing of the center of Mindelheim is particularly important to the friends of vintage cars - although in 1931 only two cars were parked on the main road.
