The strong tennis player
The net is taut. Tense is also the player. The bat she holds in both hands. The tennis dress in green and demurely tailored as it was in 1920 for daughters of good family.

Fridel Edelmann (after their marriage in 1931 she took on the name Fridel Dethleffs-Edelmann) often traveled to Ottersweier, later she lived with her husband and daughter Ursula several years in Ottersweier.
Few of these early watercolors have the last eighty years and the second World War survived intact.
