Autumn bouquet with sunflowers and hollyhocks
Sunflowers and hollyhocks act in brown clay jug like a symphony of colorful autumn. The abundant petals of the sunflower are accompanied by the delicate flowers of mallow in the background.
The artist takes the liberty to transfer the flower colors of sunflowers into the autumnal reddish brown. This hollyhocks, sunflowers and clay act like a poem. The leaves of the stems, however, are covered with a touch of poisonous green, which avoids any cloying sentiment.
As a contrast to the flowers in the jar, the artist uses the geometric shapes of the wooden planks and parquet. Only the wallpaper can again hinted the delicate shapes and colors of mauve.
