Masterpiece

The central figure of the woodcut is the woman with the dotted headscarf, the profile with a sharp nose and a striped dress. Beside her, the face of a young man behind her an older woman's profile. She stands in front of a young girl, the us turns his face.

This central group is strongly illuminated. The others are in the dark. Of them are almost only the silhouettes of hats and their shoulders illuminated.

The woodcut is despite the dynamics in the center, embedded in the rest of the waiting group: Who waits, takes time.
