Lifebloom

The beauty and abundance the bouquets overwhelm. Colorful blossoms, but not bombastic, intense colors with colors in delicate nuances, the full life while dying leaves, showing the normal end of life.

The artist has framed the flowers in tiles that are painted in related colors. Their hardness and cold is the counterpoint to the heat of the flowers.

Fridel Dethleffs-Edelmann can recognize their artistic development: With their old masters painting style of the Academy it connects to their own Expressionism from the middle of the last century.

The painting corresponds to the optimism, the confidence and realism at the time of reconstruction after the currency reform of 1948 in the Federal Republic of Germany.
